Name a Horror character you relate to on a spiritual level? Who is your Horror spirit animal?
Carrie. Slow-boiling fury under layers upon layers of repression is something many women can probably relate to.

You’ve gotta go through some bad ideas to get to the good ones. Tell us one of your bad ideas. How do you get past the bad ones to find your spark?
For me it’s less an issue of getting past bad ideas and more about holding onto the good ones. And maintaining the essence of those ideas throughout the process of refining them.

Do you consider yourself part of a horror community?
I haven’t been to the BBQs but yes.

When you’re building the world of your film, where do you look for inspiration?
Music, photography, and other films.

What would you do if you woke up inside of your film?
Get a car and drive to see if it ended somewhere Truman Show-style. If it did, I would try to get out. If not, I would start to live the sort of dangerous and irresponsible life I normally enjoy from the safety and comfort of my couch. Try to find a vampire.

Who would be on your ultimate horror villain squad?
I’m looking for charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent: Dr. Frankenfurter. Dr. Phibes. The Babadook. Lucille Sharpe. Angela. The shark from Jaws.

Lightning round: Freddy or Jason? Stephen King or H.P. Lovecraft? Practical or CGI? Post Apocalypse or Pre Apocalypse?
Freddy. Stephen King. Practical. Post Apocalypse.

And finally, Ghostface would like to know ‘What’s your favourite scary movie?’
Alien.
