Q&A with Lora D’Addazio, Director of “Juliette”
Name a Horror character you relate to on a spiritual level? Who is your Horror spirit animal?
Laura Palmers: multiple personalities going from cute popular and well behaved, to an evil tormented burning soul.
You’ve gotta go through some bad ideas to get to the good ones. Tell us one of your bad ideas. How do you get past the bad ones to find your spark?
This is a secret.
Do you consider yourself part of a horror community?
Me as a person, not really, but my work definitely is. There isn’t that much adult audience animation in Europe and I really want to encourage the horror genre within this medium even if that means that you will struggle to find the budget for it.
When you’re building the world of your film, where do you look for inspiration?
What would you do if you woke up inside of your film?
Hope I’m the final girl otherwise I’ll run away.
Who would be on your ultimate horror villain squad?
Lightning round: Freddy or Jason? Stephen King or H.P. Lovecraft? Practical or CGI? Post Apocalypse or Pre Apocalypse?
Freddy, but I really was traumatised by Jason. H.P Lovecraft but I have read more Stephen King. Practical. Both.
How do you go about creating the props and sets for your film? How do you create objects that are relatable but unfamiliar?
I follow my instinct.
And finally, Ghostface would like to know ‘What’s your favourite scary movie?’
Really difficult to choose one but let’s say THE SHINING that definitely is one of the greatest cinematic horrific film ever.
