Name a Horror character you relate to on a spiritual level? Who is your Horror spirit animal?
Black Phillip?! hahaha

You’ve gotta go through some bad ideas to get to the good ones. Tell us one of your bad ideas. How do you get past the bad ones to find your spark?
I write a lot of shit. But I always seek the opinions of the people that I trust. When most of my friends compliment a story that I wrote, then I know I have something cool.

Do you consider yourself part of a horror community?
The real horror it is not to belong to any community. And that’s cool too.

When you’re building the world of your film, where do you look for inspiration?
I seek inspiration from rural places of Brazil. In rural families and their stories and legends.

What would you do if you woke up inside of your film?
I wish to play a game of chess with the Devil.

Who would be on your ultimate horror villain squad?
The three beggars of Lars Von Trirer’s Antichrist and Black Phillip.

Lightning round: Freddy or Jason? Stephen King or H.P. Lovecraft? Practical or CGI? Post Apocalypse or Pre Apocalypse?
Neither. H.P. Lovecraft. Practical. Period movie.

And finally, Ghostface would like to know ‘What’s your favourite scary movie?’
Masaki Kobayashi’s KWAIDAN (Ghost Stories). The most beautiful and haunting pieces of art I have ever seen.
