Name a Horror character you relate to on a spiritual/personal level?
Jaws. The shark in Jaws.

You’ve gotta go through some bad ideas to get to the good ones. Tell us one of your bad ideas. How do you get past the bad ones to find your spark?
Oh I don’t know. None come to mind. I know I’ve had them though. You get past them hopefully through good taste and because you’ve surrounded yourself with excellent collaborators who you respect and admire and are better than you so your work is always elevated.

Do you consider yourself part of a horror community?
I don’t. Although, my short film is based entirely on real life so perhaps I am??

When you’re building the world of your film, where do you look for inspiration?
Life usually. Imagining how it would feel to be in that particular moment.

What would you do if you woke up inside of your film?
Well I’ve lived this one. And pretty much every woman you know has too.

Lightning round: Freddy or Jason? Stephen King or H.P. Lovecraft? Practical or CGI? Post Apocalypse or Pre Apocalypse?
Freddy. Stephen. Practical. Post.

What scares you, and does it inspire your storytelling?
Humanity’s ability and willingness to act out of fear. I don’t know if it inspires my storytelling. I guess it has for BIRDIE.

And finally, Ghostface would like to know ‘What’s your favourite scary movie?’
Jaws. I can always watch Jaws.
