Q&A with Ray Sullivan, Director of “Self Assembly”
You’ve gotta go through some bad ideas to get to the good ones. Tell us one of your bad ideas. How do you get past the bad ones to find your spark?
You don’t get past bad ideas, you just develop them into good ones. Failing that, there’s always a great story somebody else came up with that you can adapt into a film.
Do you consider yourself part of a horror community?
Sure, as a fan.
When you’re building the world of your film, where do you look for inspiration?
It’s based on a comic book so that served as inspiration.
What would you do if you woke up inside of your film?
Who would be on your ultimate horror villain squad?
A predator, a xenomorph, a gremlin, Jack from The Shining and Bub the zombie from Day of the Dead.
Lightning round: Freddy or Jason? Stephen King or H.P. Lovecraft? Practical or CGI? Post Apocalypse or Pre Apocalypse?
Neither, neither, CGI and Pre.
And finally, Ghostface would like to know ‘What’s your favourite scary movie?’
